I've had a pretty good track record when it comes to earbuds. Bar those crappy Apple earbuds, I've only had to replace them twice over a period of four years. The first time because I actually used them until they fell apart. More recently I had to replace them because my brother broke them. I bought them at the beginning of my final year in high school and they were still going strong. It was a great $16 spent.

A couple of weeks ago I was watching Äkta Människor with that little kid from Let the Right One In (the original Swedish film) and noticed he had a very bright pair of seafoam green earphones. I did some digging and found out they were Urbanears earphones (read more here). The fact that that particular actor has grown up to be quite the looker tipped me into buying my own pair. I'm no audiophile so I can't tell you much about the quality except that they're better than Apple's. How vague.



Coolest packaging ever.


This is by far the coolest feature. It's called a 'zound plug'- you can plug an additional pair of earphones so you and your friend can listen to the same song, belt out that Mariah Carey song without having to listen to each other. I think you should buy a pair (they're really reasonably priced) as well so if we ever meet we can form a zound plug chain.
